Tackling poverty and social isolation

The funding will support the continuation of the Support Cafe. In 2021 - 22 we have managed to support an average 45 service users at the cafe. The cafe largely supports individuals and families that are struggling with social isolation or poverty and need to get out and have a free lunch. The cafe runs with a paid co-ordinator, 4 volunteers and recently a paid staff member that provides befriending to the service users.

 

The grant funding helps staff wages and food ingredients to make the lunches. The cafe runs weekly every Tuesday from 12 - 2pm with time allocated before and after to prepare the food and clear up the kitchen after.
